During this week in January, 1949, Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim received around 60 inches of snow. Hard to imagine since winter 2017-18 is so much dryer and warmer than average. However - we are expecting snow showers beginning Friday night, and into Saturday (January 19-20) A new snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible - then the storm will clear on Sunday. #grandcanyon #tbt #throwbackthursday #arizona #weather[Image description: Four workers are shoveling out snow from the top part of Bright Angel Trail.
