Juan Luis Londoño Arias (28 January 1994 in Medellin, Colombia), known by his stage name Maluma, is a Colombian reggaeton - singer. Through his model cousin (Marcelo Santos) began his musical career as a child in his hometown of Medellín, from where he developed into a singer known mostly in the Spanish-speaking world.
Maluma began his musical career in 2010 by recording singles for the first time. His song Farandulera became a hit in the local radios, whereupon the Colombian offshoot of Sony Music decided to offer the singer a record deal, which he also signed. Then Maluma began to record his first studio album. The next single was Loco, which is a song about uncontrolled love. In 2012, Maluma released his first studio album entitled Magia, which was awarded gold in Colombia. The video for the single Obsesión was shot on Antioquia Department Station and the Colombian model Lina Posada took part in it. Maluma was also nominated as Best New Artist in 2012 at the SHOCK Awards.
In 2013, Maluma released the first two singles of his first album with Primer Amor and Miss Independent and then with La Temperatura the first single of his second album. This is also achieved positions in the top half of the charts and helped to Maluma nominations at the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards and the Latin Grammys. In 2014, Maluma released the music videos for La Curiosidad, Addicted and Carnaval and recorded songs with internationally known musicians such as Elvis Crespo. Despite his young age Maluma is already considered one of the best singers of Reggaetons in Latin America.
