papasankofa's Media: Student in Nigeria develops cure for breast cancer
.
.
A female student of the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja, Sandra Musujusu, has developed an alternative treatment for breast cancer. The scientific breakthrough might lead to a lasting solution in the treatment of breast cancer prevalent among women world over.
.
.
This was made known on Tuesday in Abuja when the World Bank Education Director, Dr Jaime Saavedra Chanduvi, with his team visited the University as part of his assessment tour of the 10 African Centres of Excellence (ACE) centres.
.
.
The World Bank has committed about $10 billion for the ACE project in Nigeria, as part of efforts to encourage conduct of cutting-edge research and specialisation of the beneficiaries institutions in specific development problems faced in Nigeria and indeed the African continent.
.
.
Musujusu’s research, using macromolecular science is aimed at developing bio-degradable polymer material which could be used as alternative for the treatment of breast cancer in the near future.
.
.
She revealed that her research focuses on triple negative breast cancer which is the aggressive sub-type of breast cancer that is common with women from African ancestry.
.
.
Musujusu, a Sierra-Leonian national, is conducting the research under the sponsorship of the Pan African Materials Institute (PAMI). Musujusu said, “My research is actually centred on the development of bio-degradable polymers for treatment of breast cancer.
.
.
I will be focusing on triple negative breast cancer which is actually the aggressive sub-type of breast cancer that is common with women from African ancestry.”
.
.
I believe there is a bright future for Africa, and as a woman there is much more we can do if we are empowered. This award given to me by PAMI has empowered me to face my studies with more confidence and actually contribute to the frontier of knowledge and move Africa forward.” via @instablog9ja

When amerikkka was getting their ass kicked in the war they told our ancestors if we help them win the war we would be freed, so our ancestors went to fight for the same country that enslaved them and was the reason amerikkka was able to gain its independence. But did amerikkkka keep its promise that was given to the Afrikans that it was indebted to? Do they ever! Of course not!!! It wasn't for another almost 100 years that the Afrikans would be "freed". How do you expect me or any other Afrikan to be patriotic to a country of thieves, liars, murderers and rapist??? How can you expect me to salute the same flag that my ancestors were lynched with?" Agreed! I remember as a kid how schools would stress the importance of history. History is barely taught in schools anymore. I think it's because they don't want us to know the truth .... and the 4th of July and its lies are apart of that

Circa. #1945
.
Mzee #JomoKenyatta in London awaiting to be heard at a committee hearing to deliver the message of His Imperial Majesty and the People of Ethiopia to English law makers in 1945
.
Jomo Kenyatta was an ardent Pan Africanist who tirelessly worked for the liberation of Africans world wide. Before he went to liberate his native Kenya, he was a staunch advocate of Ethiopia
.
When Italy invaded, he was in London, and upon hearing of the invasion which he saw on a news paper, he quickly joined an organization dedicated to turning the British public against the fascist war. He served as an executive committee member of the group
.
After the war, Italy and England had quickly patched up their difference and they were actively working to deprive Ethiopia of more of its territories
.
And so, he went to work for Ethiopians yet again, this time serving as a representative of Ethiopia attending committee hearing on behalf of Ethiopia and advocating for the restoration of Ethiopia's lands
.
In the picture, the poster behind him says, "Ethiopia wants an outlet to the sea," in reference to Ethiopia's stolen coastal territories
.
England was trying to either keep Eritrea or give it back to Italy. During this time, England & Italy worked hard together to turn brothers against brothers
.
Spreading lies about one ethnic group against another.During this time, the Italians sponsored a major rebellion which in Ethiopia is known as Woyane rebellion which was sponsored & led by former Italian officers
.
After his time in #England, he came back to Kenya to lead the liberation of #Kenya from the grip of racist settlers. With the help of the Emperor,Haile Selassie, who secretly provided political, military, and economic resource, the #MauMau were able to train in Ethiopia and mount #rebellion inside Kenya.
.
Until today, there are Mau Mau veteran fighters who continue to live in Ethiopia after some of them fled to Ethiopia during #British repression

-it is indeed quite a few "invisible black men" out here. Men that are buried by burdens and expectations. Men that are caste aside by systems, ISM's, and ideologies they themselves had no part in creating. Men who have acknowledged their faults, and agreed to be better, while being locked up and killed as if they don't matter, as if they are cattle. There are invisible Black men that don't get chosen because they don't fit the "bad boy" hyper masculine archetype created in the mass media as desirable. Invisible men who sacrifice for their sons and daughters and toil in obscurity, as the mudsil of capitalist society...only time you noticed is when things go wrong. Of course you don't see them, because, well, they are invisible. <---words by @_moochie101

Question. The fight you are developing in the United States signifies for people, for outsiders, that you have signed your death sentence. What do you think, or have to say, about that?
Kwame Ture: Brother Malcolm used to tell us that there were several types of death. I think a dehumanized people who do not fight back are a dead people. That is what the West has been able to do to most of us... . Dehumanized us to the point where we would not even fight back. Once you've begun to fight back, you are alive, you are alive, and bullets won't kill you. If you do not fight back, you're dead, you are dead, and all the money in the world can’t bring you alive. So we’re alive today, and we're alive all over the world. All of your black people are coming alive because they're fighting back. They're fighting for their humanity. They're doing the type of thing that Fidel talks about, when you become alive and you want to live so much that you fight to live.
You fight to live. See, when you're dead, when you don’t rebel, you’re not fighting to live, you're already dead. Well, we are alive and we love life so much that we're willing to die for it. So, we're alive. Death can't stop us.
