As I have said before, the number one product that prevents signs of aging is sunscreen. However, your skin is a direct reflection of your diet and gut health. There are certain foods that will prevent, and even diminish signs of aging. You need to make sure you are eating a combination of anti-inflammatory foods that are rich in vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids. Eating the right foods help your skin glow, brighten yours eyes, clear acne and redness, and so much more! let's talk about which foods you should be eating:
Spices: Turmeric is know for its antioxidant capacity as well as its anti-inflammatory properties. I put turmeric in almost every meal, and if you wanted to, you could mix with raw, organic honey and use this as a face mask!
Berries: Blackberries, blueberries, cranberries, raspberries, strawberries are high in antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties. They are rich in Vitamin C, which is beneficial for your immune system and skin. Vitamin C helps heal acne scars, and increases the production of collagen. I put these berries in my smoothie every morning for breakfast.
Algea: Is incredibly high in chlorophyll, Vitamin D, K, folic acid, iron and B12. Chlorella and Spirulina are my two favorite sources of microalgea. Spirulina is also the highest form of plant-based protein.
Omega-3: While I do not eat them, salmon, anchovies and sardines are rich sources of omega-3. I opt for the plant-based options like flax seeds and walnuts, that supply omega-3 and Vitamin E. Omega-3 helps fight wrinkles and lines, but also acne, eczema, psoriasis and dry flaking and oily skin.
Cruciferous Vegetables: Broccoli, cauliflower and bok choy are rich anti-inflammatory foods. They have been shown to protect your health, and help balance female hormones, helping your clear up acne and hormone related problems.
Well, what are you waiting for? Your body and skin deserve only the best! #healthyswaps #themoreyouknow #fiercefitvegans
